Civil Airport

1. The merits of the development:

  • The area strategy interest is to improve linkages.
  • Both the military and the civil airport operation and maintenance will be more profitable.
  • It will creat an important inductive effect in the development of the area.

2. The regional airport area developing effect:

  • Open a gate between the region and the European countries
  • Help further the connected vehicular network development.
  • Attract new modern industries for close set up.
  • Insure connection for the turnover of the holiday resort and spa.
  • New possibility of work
  • Speed up the functioning capital flow in the area.

3. Brief historical survey:

  • 1994. The birth of the idea for civil use in Somogy County Office.
  • 1996. National airport conference in Kaposvár.
  • 1997. Feasibility study.
  • 1998. Government decree.
  • 1998. Taszár AIRPORT Ltd.
  • 2001. Regional competition grant.
  • 2002. Laying of the foundation stone. Building of the terminal.

4. The airport:

The military airport in Taszár is in an extremely favourable location. It’s located in the center of Trans-Danubian, so it can be reached within the region within 1-1.5 hours.

The civil sector is situating in an individual fence off area on the South-East corner of the Taszár military airport. Its size is 160 m x 450 m = 7.2 ha

I. Phase: Civil Terminal

  • The buildig has two levels, the ground floor area is 700 m2, the first floor area is 300 m2
  • It can insure to provide the passangers (130-150 person) both on the coming and the arriving plane.
  • It insures the border crossing according to the Schengen agreement.

II. Phase: Apron and Taxiway 

  • Apron: 123 m x 87 m
  • 3 x 26,34 m x 36 m parking places
  • For BAe-146 (ICAO B)
  • Scheduled building up 1-3
  • Taxiway: 286 m x 15 m (ICAO C)

III. Phase: AIR CARGO 

  • Storehouse 70 m x 30 m = 2100 m2
  • Service road
  • Furniture and equipments

6. Schedule: 

  1. Phase: Terminal Start: 30. August 2002 End: 15. May 2003.
  2. Phase: Apron Start: 31. January 2003. End: 30. November 2003.
